Low back pain is common among meditation practitioners. Low back pain is known to be a global burden second leading cause of work time off after the common cold. Unfortunately, low back pain can become chronic due to poor understanding of the pain and poor explaining of health care professionals. The best way to deal with low back pain is to flex or extend your posture. However, if you usually sit in a flexed position you may feel that meditation in an extended posture is best. This means lying on your back or sitting in your meditation cushion while against a wall is best. Also
Tip 2. Knee Pain
As much as low back pain is common, knee pain is common as well. Numerous meditation practitioners experience knee pain during seated meditation especially when sitting cross-legged for long periods. To fight knee pain during meditation one must try to: First. Be conscious that the soreness in your knee during meditation is not a manifestation that your body needs serious medical attention instead it is just your body acknowledging an unfamiliar posture. Second. If the soreness persists this is where you try to sit while your other leg is in a straight position and the other knee is bent with the foot resting on your inner thigh. After which try to exchange each one when the bent knee gets too sore.
Tip 3. Middle Back Pain
Middle back pain is the pain between the shoulder blades. The caused of which is because of poor posture. Repeated pressure on the spine can lead to middle back pain. Sitting unsupported takes strength most especially if you’re new to meditating particularly seated in a cross-legged position. In which you’ll find yourself slouching afterwards. Slouching causes rounded shoulders as well as a rounded middle back. Without the strength to hold your torso upright, you won’t be able to sit up straight to meditate once your muscles has gone fatigued. The key to relieving you from your middle back pain during meditation is by lying down. By lying down your back soreness will be prevented from distracting you for longer meditation sessions.
