23 Goal Ideas to Become The Best Version of Yourself

It may be shocking to hear this but if you didn’t meet your goals last year, it mostly likely isn’t because of you… it’s most likely because you had the wrong goals in the first place!


According to insideoutmastery.com, studies on new year’s resolutions show that, “43% of all people expect to fail before February, and almost one out of four quit within the first week of setting their New Year’s resolution. Most people quit before the end of January, and only 9% see their resolutions through until succession.”


And the problem is most people are setting goals arbituratily not following the basic tenets of manifestation. I’ve been able to get manifestation down to a science and the goal ideas I am going to share with you will help you become the Highest Version of Yourself and in turn crush your goals.

First, let’s take a high level look at how these 9 Goals will help you become the best version of yourself and manifest the life of your dreams. 


Usually people set goals based on what they should do or just general goals that could pertain to anyone and anything.

And most importantly our goals shouldn’t be about becoming a new person but embodying the Highest version of yourself using a manifestation mindset that will open you up to a new level of abundance.


Instead of new year, new me- I want you to lean into New Year, Evolving Me - in divine timing, with gratitude, grace, and intentionality.

So let’s take a look at the high level strategy to manifesting your dreams so you can level up in 2023:

ONE: Now that you have the bird eye’s view of what these goals will be working towards let’s start with goals that will help maintain a Joyful Spirit.


What if I told you that you could feel happy EVERY SINGLE day? You actually can if you take the right actions and have the right mindset tools. 


Now this doesn't mean that you'll never feel any negative emotions but it does mean that it won't be the only thing that you feel in your emotional experience.


So imagine a pie and imagine that this pie is your emotional experience and each slice of the pie represents different emotions and say you have a couple pieces of anxiety in your pie because that's what you're feeling that day let's say you have something coming up that's making you nervous.


Well the idea is to have actions as well as thought techniques that so that anxiety won't be the only thing that is making up your emotional experience. And the point isn't to try to get rid of those pieces of anxiety pie but bringing other pieces of the pie that can round out your emotional experience so it's not the only thing that you're feeling.


So maybe you take actions like journaling or working out that help you bring in other emotions like Clarity or peace of mind or endorphins from working out that make you feel joyful. And then you have a more roundabout emotional experience and usually it dissipates those negative emotions with that even thought that isn’t the goal. The goal is to lean into how can you feel joy even in the midst of things like anxiety, sadness or anger and really commit to living a joyful life even if you sometimes have to tolerate some of those other things in the background. 


So, the first goal I have for you is an action that is going to increase your self-compassion and in turn your joy.

The goal is to write down something you like about yourself each day and place it in a jar. The fun thing about this goal is that at the end of the year you can open the the jar and read everything that you wrote down which is such an exhilarating experience. 


Now you might be thinking self-compassion that's just something wishy-washy… Is that really going to help me level up and become the best version of myself. Well according to Forbes.com: 

Research shows excessive self-criticism can paralyze rather than motivate and create greater problems, including procrastination, avoidance behaviors and even depression. 

Secondly increased self compassion is correlated with:

  • Higher motivation, better learning and stronger performance through a mindset emphasizing continuous improvement and personal growth.
  • Greater empathy for stronger personal and professional relationships.
  • Greater resilience, lower narcissism and reduced maladaptive perfectionism.
  • Better leadership skills through a growth mindset example and compassion that extends beyond the self to others.

So yeah self-compassion will 100% help you be the best version of yourself. And I wrote the book on self-compassion. No really, I actually wrote a book on self compassion (2 actually) if you are looking to cultivate a more compassionate self in 2023.

The second goal to help you maintain a joyful Spirit is to consider to set a goal to improve your mental health:

First take an audit of where your mental health may be suffering or where you may need some healing and then decide on what would be the best support for you considering where you need help with your mental health. This may include things like going to therapy, investing in a workbook for anxiety, or working with a coach like the work I do with my clients in Dream Life Academy.  This may mean beginning a meditation practice or journaling. Whatever you decide to do make sure it's rooted in helping you personally and taking direct action to get the support you need even if it's out of your comfort zone.

And the third joy goal idea I have for you is that I have for you is to start a thought record.

This thought record is going to help you think more positively and learn to restructure those automatic negative thoughts that pop into our brains. So what you’re going to do is get a journal and in this journal each time that you experience a negative thought that causes you some type of negative emotion I want you to write in your journal what is the thought and try to restructure it. 

In my program Dream Life Academy I teach a whole host of thought techniques to restructure negative thoughts and one of the most effective techniques is to analyze what's either unhelpful or untrue about the negative thought and then refute that thought with something that is more positive or more helpful. Now you're not going to go around trying to analyze every thought that you have that's just impossible we have so many thoughts throughout the day. But what you are going to do is when you have any type of negative emotion that you notice, (so it's going to take some mindfulness of your emotions) anytime that you're mindful that you are feeling a negative emotion I want you to tune into your thoughts and go to your thought record in that journal that you're keeping to start restructuring those negative thoughts. You may find that you're able to do this without writing it down with more practice but I always suggest starting with writing them down first to get the hang restructuring these types of thoughts. 

TWO: Ok let’s move on to goals that will help you develop the faithful mind needed to manifest the best version of yourself.

Beliefs are like icebergs lurking underneath the ocean’s surface, and if we are not aware of them they can quickly sink our Titantic dreams.


So these next three goals are going to help you lean into abundance thinking and overcome limiting beliefs:


The first goal idea is to consider adding scripting into your evening routine.

I have many videos on my Channel about what exactly is scripting and how to use it but essentially in a nut shell scripting is an activity you can do when you're in a good mood (which it is very important that you're vibrating High when you do it), where you basically journal in the present tense as if you are already your Higher manifested Self and you have all the desires that you're currently dreaming of.  So when you're doing the scripting you want to include emotions, and you want to feel those positive emotions and you really want to place yourself within this scene and you really want to paint the picture of a day in your life when you have manifested becoming the best version of yourself. This is an abundance technique for those that like to write and that are more verbal people another idea is looking at your vision board nightly but I like scripting as well because it offers you an opportunity to really get into alignment with your Highest Self. 

The second goal I have for you to have a faithful mind so you can become the best version of yourself is to take time each day to visualize the highest version of yourself in a visualization Workshop.

You’ve likely been scrolling your favorite social media and seen the quote, “Visualize your highest self, and start showing up as her.” We’ll get to the showing up as her part in just a second but for this goal I want you to visualize her because this is the important first step in being able to show up as her is to know exactly what it is that you are showing up as. So take time to envision a day in the life of your Highest Self each day for 15 minutes. Actively use your imagination to imagine not only your who exactly is your Highest Self but also envision your best Self living her dream life. 

And this next goal idea is one that epically changed my life for the better and unfortunately it’s not a very common goal that I hear people setting!

This third goal is practice radical acceptance.

According to Skyland Trail, a dialectical behavioral therapy program, Radical acceptance is when you stop fighting reality, stop responding with impulsive or destructive behaviors when things aren't going the way you want them to, and let go of bitterness that may be keeping you trapped in a cycle of suffering.

Let me give you a perfect example of how I once used radical acceptance to face one of the most difficult challenges I'd had in my life. In my twenties I went through one of the hardest breakups I’d ever faced. My partner at the time was cheating on me, left me holding the bag in our shared apartment, secretly moving out without notice to be with this other woman, taking our dog, and to this day I have not heard from him since the day he moved out while I was at work. We had been together for years and to say I was heartbroken is an understatement. I was so depressed my mom had to fly in from Texas to help me get out of the bed and get back on my feet. One of the things that got me there, besides my loving mother, was making a decision to radically accept my new reality even though it was crushing and to figure out what this heartbreak had been sent here to teach me. Because of this new attitude I can honestly say that that breakup was one of the best things that ever happened to me. It led me on a direct spiritual path to evolve in ways I never would have done in that relationship. I got certified as a yoga and meditation teacher, took a deep dive into manifestation and eventually went on to manifest my Ph.D., my husband, and babies as a direct result of the conscious work I did during that time. God used that challenge as a shaping milestone to catapult me into evolving and it took radical acceptance of my pain at that time to get me there. So consider setting a goal to learn from challenges, let go, and let God.

THREE: Okay, The last 3 goal ideas I have for you are going to help you take the RIGHT actions to become the best version of yourself.


It’s time to take action


To become your the best version of yourself you must be connected with your Higher Self that dwells within, The God lives inside all of us

According to an article in Oprah Daily, your higher self is the part of you that is unencumbered by ego and the divisions it can stoke between you and your fellow humans. It's the non-material dimension of you (some call it a soul or spirit) that's part of the cosmic or celestial whole.

Luke 17:21 "for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you"

So the goals I'm going to share with you in this section are going to be things that you can consider doing to take actions that are going to help you align with your Higher Self, the best version of yourself, the God that lives Within.

Here's some goal ideas to help you take actions to align with your Higher Self: 


First up is Acting As If -

The first goal I have for you to consider when it comes to goals to take aligned action is to start acting as if. Make it a goal to embedded within your daily routine to show up as the best version of yourself. So if you took me up on the goal to start visualizing your higher self in the last section, now is when you're going to start showing up as her. So now that you have defined what is the best version of yourself, I want you to make a plan on how you're going to show up as her in your everyday life in 2023. Then add any actions within your daily routine that will help you show up as the best version of yourself .

The second goal idea I have for you is to once a month do something that takes you out of your comfort zone and moves you closer to the best version of yourself.

You could do things like join a social club if you are an introvert or take up kickboxing if you want to learn self-defense. Whatever you decide make sure that it's something that moves you out of your comfort zone and and that is fully aligned with the version of yourself that you're trying to show up as.

And the third goal idea that I have for you when it comes to aligned action is to make a goal that helps you be more productive. 

So many times we get distracted from our goals because we're not focused on what truly matters when it comes to being the best version of ourselves. We may get distracted along the way or we're not as productive when we’re working towards a goal and learning how to be more productive is going to be a game-changer when it comes to manifesting the life you want and showing up as the best version of yourself.
