Let’s start by defining what it means to have your life together.
You can probably relate to that desire to be on top of things in your life, crushing goals, full of motivation, and showing up as your best self.
When you feel like you have your life together, I see it as tapping into that flow state of being where you feel like you are gliding through life and living up to your potential. There is a sense of fulfilment.
On the other hand, if you aren’t experiencing this right now in life, you may be feeling like you are constantly behind on things, playing catch up, a bit frazzled, and maybe even feeling all over the place.
There have been plenty of times that I have felt this way in my life.
The one that comes to mind was after dealing with a hell of a breakup in my twenties. I was depressed, could hardly get out bed, and my motivation do anything really was very very low. Financially, I was also flailing – behind on bills and working just to get by. I was in a survival mode in my life, and was no longer thriving, motivated, or on top of things.
What saved me was many different things. I talk a lot about my journey from being a broke burned out hustler, looking for love in all the wrong places to manifesting my imperfect dream life.
Of the many things that were part of that journey, a huge factor was my ability to lean into what I could control in my life and create habits that supported doing those things with ease.
And the goal is not to never have moments of flailing, the goal is to have systems, routines, and habits in our life that can help us get back on track and persevere even in the times of flailing. Even if you fall off track with these habits, having them to come back to when you stray gives you a solid foundation to get your life back to together even when ish hits the fan
Look at these habits as fuel for when you’re in that flow state of having your life together, and as placeholders for this energy when life challenges lead you astray.
So today, I am going to share 12 simple habits and routines that have helped me get my life together:
- Going to bed and waking up early
- Making my bed
- Morning reading (or Audible) or podcast
- Taking a mindful lunch break
- SOPs for everything

- Weekly planning in my paper planner
- Meal planning and prep – Sunday success checklist in modAmbition planner
- Going to bed with a clean kitchen
- Skin care routine
